Even before spring hits, many homeowners were readying their mops and dusters. To leave your home sparkling and to prepare your home for spring and beyond requires clearing away the dust and dirt from winter.  It may be a big task but is worth the effort.

Now the dust has settled from starting a new year and summer is right around the corner, it is time to turn your attention to your home.  All homes need is some TLC and regular maintenance. Fortunately, there are tips that can ensure that your spring cleaning hard-work lasts for as long as possible.  Of course, if you have teenagers like me…. you may realize and experience that these “simple” tricks seem like impossible tasks through the lens of a teen.  C’mon, is it really that challenging to push the drawers back in??  Aiyee-aiyee-aiyee.

Check out these home cleaning tricks:

To do daily:

  • Make your bed
  • Do any dishes left in the sink
  • Take out the garbage if it’s full
  • Wipe up spills while they’re fresh
  • Pick up any clothes left around your room

To do weekly:

  • Vacuum, sweep, or mop
  • Change towels and sheets
  • Scrub and disinfect the toilet
  • Wipe down kitchen and bathroom counters

To do monthly:

  • Dust bookshelves, appliances, light fixtures, and other surfaces
  • Wash bath mats
  • Wipe down microwave and fridge
  • Clean and disinfect showers and tubs

To do seasonal:

  • Wash windows
  • Reorganize the kitchen, bathroom, and desk
  • Deep clean the microwave
  • Wipe down baseboards and molding
